I am a proud pet parent, plantaholic, college graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Zoology emphasis), and owner of Always There Pet and Plant Care.
Animals have always been my whole world. It was obvious at a young age with my Animal Planet obsession and bond with my first dog- a pug named Oliver. Growing up in rural areas around the Treasure Valley with dogs, cats, equine, birds, goats – you name it! - I have a lifetime worth of experience in caring for animals. I earned a B.S. in Biology with a Zoology emphasis with honors from Boise State University in 2019. While studying, I worked at the Idaho Humane Society year round, the Ruth Melichar Bird Center during the summers, and also met my now husband, Jeremy. I have also worked at WestVet Animal Emergency & Specialty Center in Garden City, as well as another emergency vet located in Sumner, Washington during our travels after college.
Once graduated, I went on to travel and pursue a career working with animals, which led me on many adventures and seasonal jobs over the years. At first I sought a career as a wildlife biologist, and began working for the U.S. Forest Service. Yet whether it was working on trails in the mountains of Wyoming in the summer, or at a restaurant on the Oregon Coast in the winter- the urge to create something of my own and help animals in my community never faded. Once we permanently returned to Boise, I decided to make my dream a reality. Calling this business my own is an amazing feeling, and I can’t wait to meet your pet and plant companions!
My passion for plant care came a bit later in life after my husband and I rented our first community garden bed. After that, there was no going back, and I have not stopped consuming plant care knowledge. Professionally, I worked as a Fine Personal Gardener for FarWest Garden & Landscape Center, which fueled my new found passion for plants. As the seasons grew cold, I missed working with plants outside, so I began a hobby collecting common and rare houseplants. Now a hobby turned obsession, plant care is on my list of expertise.
During my spare time I’m usually tending to my beloved companions and many plants, hiking the local trails, creating art, and listening to podcasts. Boise is my hometown, so I have a deep connection to the community and people within. You can trust that I will treat your pets, plants, and home with the same respect and care of which I treat my own. I have deep compassion for all living things, and understand that when you share your life with them, they become family! Being familiar with the struggles of leaving your companions, I am happy to provide my clients with peace of mind. All I want for your pets is safety, security, and for them to look forward to my visits!
